Day by Day

Pushing Along

Arrowen keeps showing improvement: her feedings have been increased up to 15 ml every 3 hours and now that Nicole is in full prodcution mode she is getting breast milk exclusively and that has done wonders for her as it is all getting digested unlike the yucky formula which was sitting and rotting in her gut.

The cast came off her leg yesterday as her little toes were looking swollen from lack of blood. There are now looking normal and pink. We figure that we'll give her a month or so to gain her strength before continuing with the series of casts to correct her clubfoot.

She is also getting more vocal in showing her displeasure over the feeding tube and the IV in her hand. As long as she keeps increasing her feeding amounts, the IV should come out in a day or two.

Another sign of her robustness came about two hours ago as she was moved from the most critical room in the NICU to make way for a new arrival. This is a sign that she is not needing to be hovered over as much. Also they let her out in our arms for a few hours today as opposed to the usual one hour time limit.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who is doing whatever they can to shower Arrowen in love and light. She has people all over the planet performing healing rituals of one fashion or another and praying, sending love, etc. The effect of all this love shows in her battling the odds. She's beat the 95% odds of not being born, and the 50% odds of already dying within 5 days.

She's still pretty half-asleep in these pix I'm uploading...
